Dr. Giddings is a Canadian author and physician. The son of two professors of elementary education, he attended the University of Alabama School of Medicine and went on to complete a residency in Family Medicine at the University of Western Ontario. He also attended the European School of Haematology where he completed a Blood Marrow Transplantation Training Program and most recently completed a Palliative Medicine Fellowship at the University of Ottawa.
He is the Program Director of the Palliative Medicine Residency Program at the University of Western Ontario, Windsor Campus, as well as the Lead Palliative Physician for Cancer Care Ontario, Erie St. Clair. He is also a noted author and essayist, whose pieces have appeared in international journals, most recently, Supportive Care in Cancer. He loves to travel, and when not at work can be found either on an airplane or in an airport. His latest book, ‘Dying in the Land on Enchantment: A Doctor’s Journey’, was released on Lost Borders Press on April 4th.
